With more than 50 student organizations at 麻豆传媒团队, it is helpful to recognize what type of organization you are interested in joining.

Do you want to join a club sports team? Or maybe an organization to develop your professional skills? Wittenberg student organizations are responsible for many programs and events held on campus daily! Each organization offers students unique opportunities that will help you stay connected to campus, plus build teamwork and communication skills among peers, all while having a great time!

Astronomy Club

  • The Wittenberg Astronomical Society is a group where any student, scientifically-inclined or not, can participate in the pursuit of astronomy. The astronomy club meets to discuss future activities and recent astronomy news. Some past club activities outside of meetings include trips to planetariums in Chicago and Cleveland, trips to England and Scotland, trips to dark sky sites, and observing here in Springfield.

Chemistry Club

  • The purpose of this organization is to involve Wittenberg students in chemistry related activities and academic opportunities. Activities include: volunteering opportunities, social activities (ice cream social, mole day, making silly putty, collaborating with other universities' chemistry clubs, etc.), and professional events (graduate school visits). The events are open for members all of the time and for non-members under most circumstances.

East Asian Studies Club

  • The purpose of the 麻豆传媒团队 East Asian Studies Club is to promote the understanding of East Asian culture at 麻豆传媒团队 through weekly meetings, special presentations, and events.

Green Club

  • The Green Club attempts to foster an environmentally-conscious community at Wittenberg. Additionally, this organization works to raise awareness of environmental issues to the students and the larger Springfield community. The president of power also sits on the Sustainability Task Force, a collaboration between the students and faculty that works on ways to make Wittenberg greener.

Mock Trial

  • The purpose of this organization shall be to promote knowledge of mock trial and support the success of the 麻豆传媒团队 mock trial program through a variety of initiatives. This club is focused on fostering a fun, social environment. Members may also be eligible to compete with the 麻豆传媒团队 mock trial team in regional and national competitions (with coach approval). Membership is open to all majors and all career interests.

Nursing Club

Pre-Law Society

  • The purpose of this organization shall be to allow students to gain experience and exposure in multiple areas of the law. They will be given the opportunity to network, join study groups for the LSAT, and gain court experience. Learn More

Ohio Collegiate Music Education Association (OCMEA)

  • OCMEA is the pre-professional organization for future music educators in the state of Ohio. The purpose of the Wittenberg Chapter of OCMEA is to provide current and prospective music education majors with an opportunity to interact with mentors currently in the profession; learn from others with a similar interest; provide mutual support in our studies and musical and educational activities; provide options for post-graduation; and develop individual connections within the music community on campus.

Pre-Health Club

  • The purpose of Pre-Health Club at 麻豆传媒团队 is to connect students with similar academic interests and increase their preparedness for health-related careers. It will be an opportunity for students to explore vocations that are relevant to the medical community as well as develop professionally. The club will provide students the opportunity to work towards achieving their career goals by creating a supportive and enriching setting that exposes students to the life beyond applications and entrance exams.

The Business Network

  • The Business Network is focused on educating students on the sales field. It is a place to practice pitches, practice salesforce, and to learn about customer relations.

Wittenberg Student Education Association (WUSEA)

  • The 麻豆传媒团队 Student Education Association (WUSEA) is an organization whose goal is to foster relationships between education majors/minors as well as with the faculty and staff by building relationships with the community, engaging in professional development, and participating in community service. WUSEA's membership is open to current or prospective education majors and minors.

East Asian Studies Journal

  • Studies Journal is an academic organization made up of East Asian Studies undergraduate students who work as editors on submitted academic articles regarding all topics on East Asia. All undergraduate and recent undergraduate students are allowed and encouraged to submit works of research, fiction, non-fiction, poetry, artwork, and other East Asian related materials to the journal.

Spectrum

  • Founded in 1986, Spectrum is composed of nonfiction prose selections written by talented Wittenberg undergraduates. This annual journal enhances liberal arts education by publishing works from across the curriculum. Students from all departments are invited to share their research discoveries, philosophical, literary, or political insights, original ideas, or personal experiences with readers interested in broadening their own knowledge.

Club Ice Hockey

  • As a member of the Collegiate Ice Hockey Association (CIHA), the Wittenberg Ice Hockey Team will recruit individuals of all abilities to play exciting, fast-paced, and hard-hitting hockey. Practices and games take place at the NTPRD Chiller, located just blocks from 麻豆传媒团队's campus in Springfield, Ohio. Players are responsible for their own equipment.

Co-Ed Cheerleading

  • Wittenberg's cheerleading team provides spirit and encouragement to the Wittenberg community. Wittenberg cheerleaders are an integral part of the varsity athletics experience, leading cheers and bolstering spirit at most Tiger football and men's basketball games, in addition to other selected intercollegiate athletics contests, community events, and activities.

Color Guard Club

Club Golf

  • Club Golf looks to provide an avenue for students at Wittenberg to continue their competitive/casual golf careers. Practice will be 1/2 times per week (depending on people鈥檚 schedules) and special meetings (watch parties) will take place for any large, broadcast golf event. Biweekly executive club meetings could also be held to discuss things such as planning events/optimal practice times/recruitment strategies.

Club Soccer (Witt FC) 

  • The purpose of the Club Soccer is to provide a laid back, fun and recreational approach to soccer for those who are seeking a relaxed soccer experience or are too busy with other extracurricular or academics for the time constraints of the Varsity level. The club requires no experience level, allowing any of the Wittenberg Community to participate.

Esports

  • In November 2023, Wittenberg joined a new era of student engagement with competitive gaming as a part of our campus life. Starting in fall 2024, Wittenberg students have the opportunity to compete in a number of esports titles while earning a top liberal arts degree in one of more than 70 different academic fields. Kayak Club

  • The Club's mission is to promote this "fastest growing sport in America," at Wittenberg. We've got great resources, two rivers at our back door -Buck Creek and the upper Mad - and we also take our boats down to a stretch of the Mad River in Dayton. We train students in white water kayaking, rescue, and basic river techniques.

Rugby Club

  • The purpose(s) of this organization shall be: To represent 麻豆传媒团队 by competing in the sport of Rugby. We seek to expand our horizons and friendships through competition with teams from other colleges. We also seek to promote athletic endurance and skill by teaching our new members the rules of the sport.

Volleyball Club

  • The purpose of the Club Volleyball team is to promote the sport of volleyball across 麻豆传媒团队's campus. We are an open club, welcoming all to participate and take the court with the team, with no prior experience needed. We are representatives of the University itself and aim to be the best example of Wittenberg students while traveling and hosting matches.

Witt Pickle Ball

Witt Speleological Society/Caving (WUSS)

  • 麻豆传媒团队 Speleological Society, known around campus as the Caving Club and around town as WUSS, is a student-run grotto of the National Speleological Society. Anyone is welcome to join who has the slightest interest in caves. WUSS provides plenty of opportunities to get underground, and our officers will teach safe and soft caving techniques.

CRU

  • Wittenberg Cru is designed to help students form a relationship with Jesus Christ in the context of a loving and caring community. Cru provides students with plenty of opportunities to become part of a tight supportive community through Bible Studies, prayer meetings, weekly meetings with a speaker, fellowship and outreach activities, and attending worship.

Weaver Chapel Association

  • Weaver Chapel Association is an interdenominational Christian group that serves at a church "home" for students who are interested in service, fellowships, and weekly devotions that allows for their faith to grow.

Interfraternity Council

  • The Interfraternity Council is the governing body for 麻豆传媒团队's six fraternities. The IFC community encompasses all members of Beta Theta Pi, Delta Sigma Phi, Delta Tau Delta, Lambda Chi Alpha, Phi Gamma Delta, and Phi Kappa Psi. The Interfraternity Council of 麻豆传媒团队 exists in order to create closer working relationships and coordination among the member fraternities herein and with the 麻豆传媒团队 community.

Panhellenic Council

  • The Panhellenic Council is the governing body for 麻豆传媒团队's six sororities. The Panhellenic community encompasses all members of Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Xi Delta, Delta Gamma, Gamma Phi Beta, Kappa Delta, and Sigma Kappa. The Panhellenic Council exists to develop and encourage women's fraternity life and to promote positive relations among the sorority chapters. This body stands for the ideals of Greek life including friendship, leadership, scholarship, and service both to the community and to each other.

Residence Hall Association (RHA)

  • Whether living in a university residence hall, house, or apartment, we believe the residential experience is a vital part of the Wittenberg experience, and students' growth and development.

Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC)

  • In the NCAA Division III level, the student comes first. That concept is well represented by the reliance upon the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) at the school, conference and national levels. Varsity teams elect their own representatives to the Wittenberg SAAC, which helps the university execute the most effective, enjoyable and impactful athletics program possible.

Student Senate

  • The Student Senate is the acting governing body of students on campus. Student Senate was established to provide an outlet for student voice and to serve as a liaison between the administration and the student body on matters of concern. With ratification by the faculty, Student Senate determines policies pertaining to student organizations, academic regulation, and many other aspects of student life. Learn More

Union Board

  • The purpose of Union Board is to enhance the liberal arts atmosphere by serving as a volunteer student organization that provides educational, recreational, and social events for the Wittenberg Community. Union Board hosts a wide variety of events from Homecoming, Sibs Weekend, and Wittfest to weekly Witt Wednesday events (such as trivia, comedians, musicians and poets) along with alternative weekend programming for all of the Wittenberg community to enjoy.

Beta Beta Beta (Biology)

  • Beta Beta Beta (TriBeta) is an honor society for students, particularly undergraduates, dedicated to improving the understanding and appreciation of biological study and extending boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research.

Kappa Delta Pi (Education)

  • The purpose of this organization is to bring together education major and minors who are accepted into the program in understanding the bigger experience of being a teacher, while encourage high academic achievement.

Lambda Pi Eta (Communication)

Pi Sigma Alpha (Political Science)

  • Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society, is the only honor society for college and university students of government in the United States. Wittenberg is the Alpha Xi chapter. During the academic year, the Pi Sigma Alpha hosts an end of the Year Political Science Picnic, and participates in the Levitas Political Science Journal (all political science students).

Sigma Delta Pi (Spanish)

  • Sigma Delta Pi (Lambda Iota chapter) is the Spanish National Honor Society. Sigma Delta Pi provides resources for students studying Spanish to practice conversational Spanish while educating and expanding the culture on campus. The organization welcomes speakers on campus and hosts a variety of cultural events, including trips to local venues.

Asian Pacific Islander Intercultural Club (AAPIIC)

  • AIA is aimed at expressing the cultural diversity that exists at 麻豆传媒团队. The organization is for international students to share their culture with the American students and also for American students to share their culture with international students. Learn More

Concerned Black Students (CBS)

  •  CBS is a vital resource for minority students at Wittenberg. Recognizing that role, along with the tradition of activism and involvement, CBS remains committed to cultivating and promoting a campus that embraces diversity and inclusion and is open to all students who share that commitment. Gender and Sexual Diversity Alliance (GSDA)

  • The Gender & Sexual Diversity Alliance represents all letters of the LGBTQ+ alphabet and educate campus about the issues and topics faced by the LGBTQ+ community. GSDA provides a safe and comfortable atmosphere for members of gender and sexual minorities and allies, to promote an understanding of and acceptance of students of gender and sexual minorities, promote community between students of gender and sexual minorities and the rest of campus, and to educate students about issues related to communities of gender and sexual minorities, both locally and nationally. Shades of Pearls

  • Shades of Pearls was created to address specific needs and to offer support for minority female students on Wittenberg's campus. Our mission in Shades of Pearls is to help minority women develop a sense of pride and belonging to the university by highlighting the mission and values of 麻豆传媒团队. Just Eve

  • Just Eve is an all-female a cappella group on campus. The group sings and arranges a variety of songs and is always excited to perform for people on and off campus.

The Torch

  • The Wittenberg Torch is the official, student-run weekly newspaper of 麻豆传媒团队 in Springfield, Ohio. The Torch has informed and entertained while providing an important training ground for future professionals since 1873. The Torch is dedicated to strong writing, principled reporting, and the maintenance of an informed student body. The Torch is open to all members of the Wittenberg community - students, faculty, staff, alumni.

Wittenberg Choir**

  • An SATB ensemble, Wittenberg Choir is the singing ambassador for Wittenberg. In addition to performing each semester on campus, they tour each spring semester, performing sacred and secular repertoire throughout the region, state, and country. Learn More

Wittenberg Singers**

  • An SSAA women鈥檚 choir that performs at major university events. In addition, they present a concert each semester. Learn More

Wittmen Crew

  • The Wittmen Crew is the premier male a cappella group at 麻豆传媒团队 that hosts concerts featuring their own music. Music performed by the group includes current top 40 hits, classic top 40 hits from the past, and traditional choral pieces set for men's voices. At the beginning of each academic year, Wittmen Crew hosts open auditions to any male on campus.

WUSO

Alpha Phi Omega

  • Alpha Phi Omega is Wittenberg's co-ed service fraternity.
  • Alpha Phi Omega's mission is to prepare campus and community leaders through service. Its purpose is to develop leadership, to promote friendship and to provide service to humanity.

Wittenberg 4 Paws

  • Wittenberg 4 Paws is committed to enriching the lives of people with disabilities by placing life-changing service dogs worldwide.
  • 4 Paws for Ability is a nonprofit organization that works to place service dogs in homes of children with disabilities and veterans who have lost use of limbs or hearing, in addition to educating the public regarding the use of service dogs in public places.

American Sign Language Club

  • The purpose of this organization shall be to teach the students of Wittenberg about the vocabulary and grammatical structures associated with ASL. As Well as to educate them on D/deaf culture in America. We will work to create an environment that is non- judgmental and low pressure for learning the fundamentals of ASL. This will be a great way for us to share our interest of the language and culture with like-minded individuals.

Anime Club

  • This organization was created to address specific needs and to offer support for students on Wittenberg campus that express an interest in anime or manga.

  • Our club aims to create a welcoming and entertaining atmosphere at extracurricular activities. We also hope to spread positivity throughout campus and invite people to step out of their comfort zone; by upholding the spirit and tradition of 麻豆传媒团队, building community, and making lasting memories.

Lesotho Nutrition Initiative (LNI)

National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI)

  • NAMI (which stands for: National Alliance on Mental Illness) is a national organization that focuses on educating and advocating for mental health. NAMI on Campus Wittenberg is a student-led campus organization that aims to help address the mental health needs of students and raise mental health awareness within our campus community by providing peer-support, education, and advocacy.

Role-Playing Guild

  • The Wittenberg Role-Playing Guild provides a community for those interested in games on campus ranging from board games and role-playing games to miniatures and collectible card games. The Role-Playing Guild holds semester long campaigns of various types of role-playing game systems that meet regularly once a week. Learn More

The Swift Society

  • The Swift Society looks to bring Swifties together to share in their love of all things Taylor Swift. The club looks to spread Taylor Swifts image of Encourage towards members to uphold a positive and respectful image of Taylor Swift as a role model and artist.

The Wittenberg Art League (WAL)

  • The Wittenberg Art League is geared toward creating a strong visible community in the Arts at 麻豆传媒团队. WAL has ambitions to stretch the values and benefits of the Arts from the Wittenberg campus into the surrounding community - therefore, members promote a reflective cultural bond, appreciation and aesthetic between the Springfield area and the student body. The Wittenberg Art League hosts social events, and educational museum trips that are open to anyone in the Wittenberg community.

Tiger Pep Band

  • The 麻豆传媒团队 Tiger Pep Band aims to support and bring the joy of music to athletic events on campus.

Traveling Tigers (Commuter Student Association)*

Young Democratic Socialists of America

  • The purpose(s) of this organization shall be to educate and organize students and young people, take a principled stand in the movement for social justice, and provide a safe environment for the expression of progressive ideas.
