Students develop critical reasoning, problem-solving and analytical skills in a program that combines economic theory with courses in all significant fields of economics.

Wittenberg's economics department teaches analytical thinking as a way to investigate the use of scarce resources to satisfy human aspirations.

Applications in such areas as money and banking, exchange rates, labor economics, and the role of government in the economy supplement a solid foundation in core macro- and micro-economic theory as well as in financial economics.

Internship and study abroad options augment classroom experiences. A diverse curriculum allows students to tailor the economics program to their career goals. The analytical skills learned in the economics and financial economics majors are valuable in a wide range of careers in business, government, banking and academics.
